"People often tell me I bring great energy to my work. I aim to empower you to do the same."

— Jennifer Accursi, MSW RSW & Psychotherapist

Her Story

You are the expert. I am here to support you.

Hi, I’m Jenn. Thank you for taking the time to be here. Investing in your mental health and well-being is one of the most important things you can do for yourself — and I don’t take lightly the trust that comes with that.

We all carry a past and present self that shape who we are and who we aspire to become. Therapy isn’t a “one size fits all” process, so I tailor each session to meet my clients’ unique strengths and needs. I encourage open, honest dialogue throughout the therapeutic journey to foster a collaborative, client-centred approach.

My practice is strength-based and trauma-informed, with a deep focus on the interaction between mind, body, and environment. You are the expert in your own life — my role is to draw on my personal experiences, extensive professional training at the master’s level, and education to support, guide, and gently challenge you as you navigate your path.

One of my strengths is articulating my own feelings and goals, and I aim to empower you to do the same. While my practice focuses on issues inherent to women, I’m deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community and anyone seeking support.

Strength-Based Practice

Rather than focusing solely on what’s wrong, Jenn works with what’s already strong in you. Every person has resilience, resources, and capabilities — her role is to help you find and build on them.

Trauma-Informed Care
Understanding that trauma shapes how we experience ourselves, others, and the world — Jenn creates safety first, and works with the full complexity of a person’s history at a pace that feels right.
Mind-Body-Environment Connection
Jenn’s practice is grounded in the understanding that mental health doesn’t exist in isolation from the body or the world we live in. Environment, relationships, and physical experience all shape our emotional lives.
Client-Centred & Collaborative

Open, honest dialogue throughout the therapeutic journey. You set the direction — Jenn brings the clinical skills, the curiosity, and the energy to help you get there.

A Note on Teens

Therapy designed for young people.

Teen therapy requires a different approach than adult therapy. Adolescents are navigating identity formation, peer pressure, academic stress, and emotional intensity — often all at once. Jenn creates a space that meets teenagers where they actually are, not where adults think they should be.

School Stress & Performance Anxiety

Academic pressure, test anxiety, fear of failure, and the mental load of school in a high-expectation environment

Identity & Self-Discovery

Supporting teens as they navigate who they are — including gender identity, sexuality, values, and belonging

Anxiety & Depression in Youth

Recognizing how anxiety and depression show up differently in teenagers, and working with those presentations specifically

Parents of Teens in Discovery

Joint sessions available for parents navigating how to support a teenager going through a significant life experience

Clinical interests

What Jenn treats & supports.

01

Anxiety

Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic, performance anxiety — understanding the patterns that keep anxiety in place and building tools to respond rather than react.

02

Depression

Navigating low mood, loss of motivation, emotional numbness, and hopelessness — with a strength-based approach that acknowledges the weight of depression while building toward something different.

03

Trauma & PTSD
Processing past and present trauma at a pace that feels safe. Jenn works with the body, the mind, and the story — helping clients make sense of difficult experiences without being re-traumatized by them.

04

Grief & Loss

Bereavement, ambiguous loss, anticipatory grief, and the grief that comes with life transitions. Jenn holds space for all of it — without timelines or expectations about what healing “should” look like.

05

Life Changes & Transitions

Career change, relationship shifts, relocation, identity changes, becoming a parent, leaving a relationship — transitions are one of the most common catalysts for seeking support, and one of Jenn’s core areas.

06

LGBTQ+ Affirming Care

A deeply inclusive and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals navigating identity, relationships, mental health, and the compounding weight of systems that often don’t see them fully.

07

Stress
Chronic stress from work, relationships, caregiving, or the weight of daily life — building sustainable coping strategies and identifying the root conditions that keep stress cycles in place.

08

Self-Harm & Suicidal Ideation
Jenn has the advanced clinical training to support clients experiencing self-harm and suicidal ideation — bringing safety, non-judgment, and genuine clinical competence to some of the most difficult conversations in therapy.
